150 YEARS TRADING - 1862-2012

Our 150th year of trading has arrived and a big thank you to all our customers and suppliers who have supported us over the years.

We remain an independent family business with an unbroken family line; Richard and Robert Sykes representing the fifth generation of Sykes Timber.

SYKES TIMBER EXOTIC WOOD STORE

We have redeveloped our timber museum to include a timber sales area.

The new facility includes a wide range of turning blanks as well as exotic timbers like Ebony, Rosewood, and Lignum Vitae. We have fingerboards for musical instruments and a selection of specialist figured grain boards.

Our full range of hardwood flooring and hardwood decking is also on display.

Other items include "Fatwood" a new environmentally friendly all natural fire lighting stick which is perfect for domestic use in open fires, wood burners, barbeques, camping etc.

We have a range of garden products including Hazel Hurdles for fencing, wooden trugs and planters.

Please call at our office reception to visit the store, which is open 8.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am - 12 noon on Saturday. Please note we do not open on the Saturday mornings of Bank Holiday weekends.

SHOWROOM

Elm Flooring with Oak Ledged and Braced Doors

Our showroom is open to anyone wishing to visit.

The showroom features displays of decking and flooring as well as moulded sections, kitchen worktops and ledged and braced doors. Above all it is an opportunity to see the huge range of timbers that we have in stock and examples of how they will look as finished products in a variety of end uses.

This unique facility is ideal for those looking for ideas and inspirations whether they be end users, project managers, designers or contractors and is proving very popular with our customers; please feel free to visit.
