A unique approach to Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata) for Cladding
and Joinery
Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata) is the natural choice for cladding and other external uses. Cedar has a wonderfully warm appearance combined with excellent insulation properties, dimensional stability and light weight. Add to these qualities Cedar's inherent natural durability and ease of working and the advantages of this timber are clear.
GRADE: Imported as No.2 Clear only and re-graded to our own high standard making Sykes Star Grade unique for quality and performance.
SEASONING: We air dry to an average of 18% moisture content; this is a natural process using no fossil fuels and is much kinder to the timber. The resulting timber will result in a smoother finish and take coatings or treatments more readily.
FINISHING: Cedar is often left unfinished. However, we can arrange part or full factory finishing if and as required. Flame retardant treatments are also an available option.
DELIVERY: Wrapped, banded and delivered in good condition.
