Two years of hardwork came to fruition yesterday as a container of Sykes Timber’s first production of Java Teak landed at our Warwickshire site.
For years Sykes Timber have been working on an ethically produced alternative to Burmese wild, old growth Teak. We all are aware Burmese Teak, or any wild fell Teak is no longer socially acceptable or able to be imported into the UK and Europe legally.
So, we are very happy to finally introduce you to our Java Teak, sustainably sourced from SVLK, FLEGT/V-legal Perhutani plantations in Java.
With future supply secured, we’re excited to introduce this product into the UK’s marine market.
